Things are up in the air!

The recent revelation of widespread corruption, throughout the INITE party has created a situation in which the group has started to fragment, as rats desert the sinking ship. Even Senator Joseph Lambert, a murderer and cocaine trafficker, has walked away from his commitment to block President Martelly’s effort to install Bernard Gousse as Prime Minister.

Some 21 INITE people were listed as being paid thousands per month as consultants by the Interior Ministry. Insiders say that all ministries have zombie parliamentarians on their payrolls, bleeding further millions from the nation’s treasury.

INITE is a criminal organization, peopled by many criminals who have kidnapped, murdered, smuggled cocaine, stolen millions. In the States it would be attacked under the RICO Act as a criminal organization.

Parliamentary immunity shields the guilty from prosecution.

The potential collapse of INITE loyalty may leave Aristide and Preval in very vulnerable situations. They could be placed under house arrest –or worse – as being threats to national stability.

With Bernard Gousse in office Haiti might have a chance at stability. He has demonstrated a past respect for law and order that upset Lavalas  loyalists when he arrested people who had murdered and kidnapped. Lavalas feel that Lavalas people who do these things, should be overlooked by the justice system.
