Statement of the U.S. Embassy In Advance of August 9 Elections

The U.S. Embassy would like to encourage the people of Haiti to make their voices heard and vote in legislative elections.  The U.S. Embassy would like to particularly encourage women to vote.  As the poto mitan of the Haitian people, their contribution is crucial. This is an important election.  Legislatures in any democratic system are a direct link to the will of the people.  Members of Parliament represent you and your concerns in government, so let your voice be heard with your vote.    Your full and peaceful participation in the voting process is the crucial starting point for a better tomorrow for all Haitians.    (End of text)

COMMENT: HAITIAN-TRUTH.ORG

The close, dangerous association of Ambassador Pamela White, with President Michel Martelly, and Sophia, has done much to generate Haiti’s present disastrous situation.

This incestuous relationship saw the ambassador ignore many situations in which an arm’s-length relationship would have better served the Haitian people.

Many blame Ambassador White for the break between Martelly and prime Minister Lamothe, a break that saw the total disintegration of Haiti’s government.

Without the sobering influence of Lamothe, his friend Michel became involved in unproductive, destructive situations that has damaged, perhaps made impossible, Haiti’s hope for a smooth Democratic transition, to the future.

Monday will see all political parties, minus Martelly’s Tet Kale and Bouclier – unit in one explosive opposition to the fiasco – called ELECTION!!

Perhaps the American Embassy will accelerate its interference by inflicting a Provisional/Transitional government made up of their past favourites – General Herard Abraham, Mario Andresol and another – who remains nameless, at the moment.

Is Haiti is about to regress?

Violence threatens.

People will die this weekend.

How much of these problems sit on the embassy doorstep is for history to judge.
