When the Americans occupied Haiti – so many years ago – they grabbed Customs and the Central Bank, then ran Haiti with internally generated funds, creating many improvements and an infrastructure that survived until Aristide’s destruction of it.

Privert installed a Lavalas Director of Customs and he remains in place, along with the Lavalas mafia.

The Customs/Douane leakages exceed $1,000,000,000 per year – enough to cover our annual budget. Instead this cash is siphoned off as the government expects the International Community to refill their cash register.
