MESA, Ariz. — Sean Penn appeared in Mesa to discuss how the Haiti Disaster Relief of Arizona organization has supplied millions of dollars worth of medical supplies to the Haitian people.Penn formed a nonprofit, the J/P Haitian Relief Organization, to further his leadership efforts in maintaining awareness and delivering goods to the ongoing Haiti relief effort.Locally, the organization has donated more than $3 million in supplies to Haiti.Although Haiti isn’t receiving the media attention it once did, the plight is as great as ever, as evidenced by the cholera outbreak in the past month.The press conference took place at the Pollack Haitian Hope Center at 3164 N. Country Club Drive in Mesa.
