MICHAEL COLLINS May 14, 2017

We believe that any effort to destabilize the Jovenel Moise Presidency is criminal.

Everyone should work to make it a success, so that the next Presidency will have a firmer base upon which to build.

RED LIGHTS FLASHING!!!

The obvious was obvious shortly after Donald Trump’s inauguration. Elements within his team were moving to promote his Draconian Immigration Policy. Hispanics are too dangerous a target – WELL ORGANIZED -TOO MUCH POLITICAL LEVERAGE.  Haitians the ideal target – DISORGANIZED – NO POLITICAL LEVERAGE.

And so, the segment of America’s system, more Pro-American than the average American, with the lowest rates of unemployment ,    strong family values and an overpowering desire for the children to get education, education, education…..  was “thrown under the bus.”

These folks, under Temporary Protected Status have had several years to establish themselves, and will now be derailed, torn from this new established life and sent back into a society that offers absolutely nothing but misery.

They were lucky to escape and will now be thrown back into the fire!

The moment this threat became apparent – SOMETIME IN MARCH – our government should have mounted a balanced, emotional campaign to deal with this threat. The emotional campaign could have been a vehicle to generate an awareness throughout the world – but especially in the States and Canada – about our present situation, needs and goals.

TRUMP GAVE THE JOVENEL MOISE GOVERNMENT A GOD GIVEN OPPORTUNITY TO GENERATE AWARENESS, WHEN THE MEDIA WAS/IS FOCUSED UPON THE PLIGHT OF 58,000 HAITIANS!!!

The Haitian government has done ZIP!!!

The writing was on the wall!!

Jovenel’s team should have taken the immediate lead in coordinating the media battle. Instead, this has been left to others, as Haiti’s threatened 58,000 capture  media coverage that is massive, but we Haitians have made no effort to control the focus to help the 58,000 and the Haitian Nation.

Shortly after Jovenel’s inauguration, we offered to coordinate a team for such a program. Like tossing a message in a Barbancourt bottle off the dock in the hope someone will find the bottle and read the message.

ZIP!!

When it became more obvious that our Foreign Affairs team was in neutral we made more suggestions. At this point we were told that   “ the Minister in not ours. He was placed there by the Senate and Chamber of Deputies…”

Another line focused upon the observation that these things had to be “dealt with under strict protocol, via the Minister of Foreign Affairs.” UTTER BULL SHIT!! Protocol is for losers with no imagination. AN EMOTIONAL ASSAULT WOULD HAVE WON THE WAR BEFORE IT PROGRESSED THIS FAR!

We understand this flaw and its impact on President Moise’s effort to govern. I was recently sitting in the Kinam when our Minister of Culture sat at the next table, with some friends. His lament said it all… “I cannot possibly be a Minister without cash. The Senators and Deputies are in my office every day, demanding money….”  No mention about projects, or helping our society, just the irritation of not having graft to spread among our elected representatives, who placed him in office, as part of their deal to support Jovenel.

Too many Ministers “belong to someone else.”

And so the focus, upon external challenges is minimal as the Senators and Deputies fight for cash in downtown Port-au-Prince, while the Senate President, Youri Latotue in company with the President of our Chamber of Deputies, Cholzer Chancy,  plot to derail President Moise and, by doing so they derail our society!!.

In talking with those who could have carried a message to Jovenel we were faced with many comments, to the effect that… “Haitians are always being deported. No big deal.”

Well, it is a massively big deal!!

The impact of this, along with the Dominican Republic’s threat to deport 200,000 Dominican/Haitians will effectively destroy what is left of our tattered economy,  an economy effectively given the coup de grace by the Dominican Republic’s man, Privert.

Something must be done.

President Moise’s entry into this combat, at this late date, makes it apparent that he is FOLLOWING not LEADING the combat.

Once again, Haiti is faced with a missed opportunity, but “better later than never!”.

Our President, my President Jovenel Moise has been badly served by those who should have worked to solve his problems, the government’s problems, Haiti’s problems.

Jovenel Moise could have, should have been a hero with a bold, emotional utilization of the open door, presented by the 58,000 Haitians  under Temporary Status.

We offered our contacts. I am sure we aren’t the only ones to offer assistance in this challenge. Many of Jovenl’s associates have their own private, personal, self-centered agendas that have no place for thoughts about 58,000 Haitians who are about to lose everything!

“I’ve got mine! To heck with everyone else!”

Not constructive!

58,000 Haitian brothers and sisters: Their Fate rests in the hands of God and realistically, His attention might be focused elsewhere.

GOD HELPS THEM WHO HELP THEMSELVES – unfortunately  we have overlooked this concept.

PERHAPS THE REFUSAL TO FIGHT FOR THE 58,000 IS BASED UPON A JEALOUSY OF THOSE IN HAITI WHO WERE NOT LUCKY ENOUGH TO REACH THE STATES!

MISERY LOVES COMPANY!!!

  1. Yes, we are a strange foreign element, black – and speaking French/Creole in a land of English/Spanish.

President Trump seems to lack any concept of honor.

Only the existing instant and past lies will be forgotten, as will our 58,000.

  2. Se lapenn pou nou pa ka ede frè ak sè nou. Jovenel li te genyen anpil espwa sa a. Li se yonn nan nou men pa gen sipò nan palman an. Governemnt l’ dòmi.

  3. Ce danger était évident en février.
Le gouvernement Jovenel ne fait rien.
    Ils seront tous avant septembre.

  4. Plus de temps perdu. Plus de vies perdues. Nous avons vraiment besoin d’un bon dictateur. La démocratie est pour les criminels.

  5. This is truly a disaster. I have three Haitian kids working for me. they are also attending college in their spare time. Don’t know when they sleep!! It is a sad situation that sees our government take these productive elements from our society. I wish my kids would work as hard and focus on college. They (my children) are too spoiled and do not appreciate what we have.

  6. I agree that the Haitian children really work at school.
My two sons have some Haitians in their classes and the haitians make everyone else work harder in order to avoid looking like morons.

  7. I am not optimistic.

thought Trump might be a breath of frsh air, but he delivers a bad smell.

Knee jerk reactions, with no worry about consequences.

He is what is wrong with Social Media – allowing people to eact without thought.

    58,000 lives in the balance.

    SAD, SAD, SAD
