Haiti - Politic : OPL will not be part of the Common Front of the Opposition

Professor Sauveur Pierre Etienne, National Coordinator of the Organization of People in Struggle (OPL) has indicated that his political party will not be part of the common front of the opposition in the next elections, decided during the first weekend of April, during the 4th meeting of the leaders of the Democratic Opposition, which was held in Gonaïves.

Recalling that with 12 deputies and 4 senators elected, OPL already represents a strong political front and decentralized, composed of popular organizations, trade unions, professional, peasants well established in the regions in which primary will be held before the elections, Sauveur Pierre Etienne stressed that this non-participation in the collective of the opposition does not exclude, before the second round of the elections, that his political party do ad hoc alliances, on a case by case basis, in certain regions.

Recall that in May 2012, the OPL had already distanced itself from the Alternative platform, due to conflicts between the decisions taken by the platform and the former Senator and President of Fusion, Edmonde Supplice Beauzile.
