An interesting phenomena.
The streets of Cite Soleir are clean.
We see substantial businessmen becoming involved there.
People can walk around in safety, after dark, unlike Petion-Ville when even the dogs abandon the roads after the sun goes down.
Kids have nice play areas.
Kako is working to make community a happy one.
What has happened?
The major destabilizing elements have simply moved on to another target area and this is PETION-VILLE!!
The Juveneau, Canape-Vert, Turgeau and other areas were paralyzed by violence on Sunday, December 11 as a well-known Lavalas gang leader assassinated a young pro-Jovenel PNH officer Claude Rigaud from the 26th Promotion. The assassin was arrested and taken to the PNH caserne in Petion-Ville. He was soon released by St. Roc, the Lavalas Mayor of Petion-Ville. Then we have the Minister of Justice calling the Mayor to Justice as part of the Privert/Aristide/Lavalas Game.
This was/is a warning shot of what is to come.
Unexpectedly, the Mayor’s release of the assassin has had an unexpected, explosive result. The assassin/gang leader was one of two “Lavalas bandits” released by St. Roc in that period and will probably see Mayor St. Roc’s removal from office.
This is something Mayor St. Roc would never expect.
The process was a simple one.
As a Lavalas oriented Mayor he simply called a Lavalas-oriented PNH commander, who released a Lavalas murderer.
It had happened before.
It will happen again.
Remember Privert-appointed Police Chief Gedeon is a Lavalas militant, as are many of his senior and subordinate officers. During the recent days, as demonstrators destroyed property, the chain-of-command depended on these people to transmit orders.
Instead, they shut off their cell phones and completely derailed law-and-order.
Privert, Aristide/Lavalas know the battle is lost if Jovenel takes the Presidency without conflict. Aristide, and his partners Jude Celestin and Moise Jean Charles are working steadily to create instability and chaos that will suggest the November 20 ballot was fraudulent and should be cancelled, even though all observers said the process was a good one.
Aristide’s plan is simple.
Continue to claim fraud and people will finally believe his propaganda.
Continue to claim the turnout was low, and people will finally believe this is a factor, even though all of Haiti’s electoral turnouts have been extremely low. The International Community has always expanded the percentages, to make it seem as though Democracy is working, often by factors of 2, 3, 4.
8% is probably a realistic average.
Jovenel’s win is really an impressive one and should be accepted as a true reflection of the vast Haitian majority’s desires. Jovenel can bring sweeping changes to our society and these changes will doom Aristide/Lavalas as relevant grouping.
And so, like rats who have taken poison, the Aristide/Lavalas sector will bring violence to our streets over the coming days, weeks, in an effort to weaken Jovenel’s base to he can be brought down within 6 months – or less.
Aristide is a long-term planner.
Aristide will then present himself as the only solution to Haiti’s dilemma.
Aristide’s continual attacks will have an influence on Haiti’s massive majority who face unbearable problems to simply survive and send their kids to school. Most of these Haitians would like to see Jovenel succeed, but they won’t be surprised if he doesn’t.
That is the nature of the environment into which Aristide will send his gang members.
We must be ready for the challenge as the electoral results are presented.
With a few million USD$$ the process can still be influenced during the contestation process – even if only to inject a suggestion of “massive fraud” yet again.
It derailed the good October 2015 vote.
The same can happen – again.
It is time for the Nation to get firmly behind their new President – Jovenel Moise.
There is absolutely no alternative.
He is the bridge to our future and we must not allow anyone to destroy this opportunity.
