Ex-President Michel Martelly, with his team, was in immediate action even as Hurricane Matthew was still in motion across Haiti. They were busy distributing needed material to areas hit by the giant storm.
We were lucky not to lose more people.
The devastation was still widespread as buildings were destroyed or damaged. Many livestock dies and vast areas of agricultural land was wiped clean in areas where food supplies were already tenuous.
We will face a grim few months until new plants can mature.
There are growing reports of accelerating cholera infections as water spread this highly infectious disease.
