Michel Martelly swept through the Artibonite in a series of massive rallies attended by tens of thousands , showing the Aristide phenomena has yet to influence the massive Lavalas support that Martelly controls. The young  people see him as a here-and-now situation whereas Aristide is seen as the past, and possibly the future. However, those questioned want a new government now, without further delay

The electoral process has been a criminal fraud, to date, perpetuated by the Preval government, in association with the world community. The so-called Will of the People has effectively been ignored – twice. Jean-Henry Ceant should have won (he did win) the November 28 ballot, and now, Martelly should win the March 20 vote.

This does not mean that the Preval-controlled CEP will not, in partnership with the OAS, MINUSTAH and American embassy, steal the vote again, as they did in 2006 when they magically expanded Preval’s 23% to 51% in order to avoid a run-off and have Preval as a willing asset for the foreigners’ occupation.
