IF THE MIAMI CONSULATE DOES NOT ANSWER PHONES, IT DOES NOT MATTER IF HAITI IS “OPEN FOR BUSINESS” – PHONES RING UNANSWERED UNTIL THEY FINALLY CUT OFF…. E-MAILS UNASWERED… PEOPLE LEFT SITTING FOR SEVERAL DAYS BEFORE THEY GET TO SEE SOMEONE… LET’S GET SERIOUS GUYS!!!

Early April, the Consul General of Haiti in Miami, François Guillaume II, at the head of a delegation composed among other of Consul Patrice Baker and of Vice-Consul Martine Thévenin, made an official visit in Montgomey, Alabama, to explore opportunities for business between Haiti and this State.

The delegation, which met with the Governor Robert J. Bentley, the Commissioner John McMillan, the Mayor Todd Strange and representatives of various sectors such as fisheries, poultry, forestry, energy and wood, has also been received by various Senators and Representatives as well as by the principal leaders of the School of Agriculture at the University of Auburn, one of the largest in the State of Alabama.

The Consul General François Guillaume II has indicated that Haiti presented significant opportunities for the commercial and industrial sector in Alabama, he used these meetings to focus on the various growth sectors in Haiti, and on the new measures taken by the administration Martelly-Lamothe to facilitate investment in Haiti. The Caracol Park was also highlighted during the presentations by the Consul General.

A forum on the four key sectors: poultry, fisheries, energy and industry, will soon be realized in Montgomery, followed by a trade mission in Haiti.

  1. I am a working person and require a service. I went to consulate for three days and was left sitting there and never completed my task. This cost me three days money plus bus charges and I still require the service but cannot go again.
