Members of the Haitian medical community are blocking use of cholera vaccine. They believe that use of the vaccine, to prevent thousands of deaths, will see the Haitian peasants neglecting their instruction to wash their hands with soap and water.
These hypocrites all live in situations where soap and water is not a problem.
Water is an everyday challenge to peasant survival. Just finding enough to drink and cook with is a near impossibility, for many. Water to wash with is often not readily available and soap costs money.
This medical stupidity was fostered by President Preval and his Minister of Health, Dr. Larsen. Thousands of Haitians died because the United Nation’s MINUSTAH brought the plague to Haiti.
Now the Haitian medical community wants to block what could be a life-saving effort by the world community.
Perhaps this is their way to solve the pressing population problem. Kill off a million or so with cholera and there will be fewer mouths to feed.
Between the Senate, Chamber of Deputies and the medical community, our peasants will really have to fight for survival.
