PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) – “If senators put an end to the inquiry into the nationality of head of state without providing a [final] report, they risk losing their credibility in the eyes of the Haitian people,” said former First Lady Mirlande Manigat.
The former presidential candidate, Mirlande Hyppolite Manigat considers it necessary that the Senate Committee continue its inquiry into the nationality of President Martelly to find a solution to the crisis gripping the country for about three months.
The executive secretary of the Rally of National Progressive Democrats (NPDR), also denounced the involvement of the platform confessional” Religion for Peace” in this case.
“Why these clergymen who, in the eyes of society, enjoy a presumption of moral standing, integrity and honesty, dare endorse the” theater” of Martelly, asks Ms Manigat stating that this religious platform can’t pose itself as a state institution.
Based on the revelations made by the Senate investigators who, after analyzing exhaustively the travel documents of Martelly, denounced some incongruities in the passports of the president, former first lady and candidate for president estimates that suspicion on the nationality of Michel Martelly remained.

Talk about losing credibility!! This cow lost all her credibility, and that of her husband, when she took millions from Preval, a pension for her husband, expensive home improvements, and an armored car…in return for her promise to let Preval name her cabinet and Prime Minister. She lost her credibility when she had known drug people, such as Tony St. Pierre and the Borlette King as advisers during her abortive presidential campaign. She lost credibility when she betrayed the other presidential candidates – as did Martelly – by continuing the flawed process when, a combined front, would have forced new, valid elections. Instead, we have an abortive mess that sees Martelly, the real third place candidate, in the presidency. It is time for everyone to sit down and shut up. Let’s get the Nation back on track and bury this citizenship stupidity. It will not put food on the kids’ plates, nor schoolbooks in their hands. |
