FLASH FLOOD WARNING!!! Haiti to be innundated from above

http://cafnr.missouri.edu/images/news/storm-team2.jpg1715 Hours May 2, 2010 and a few drop of rain spotted the dusty glass table on our patio. The  droplets increased, forcing us to go inside.

1730 the rain has accelerated rapidly intermittent bolts of lightning with a FLASH – BANG interval of  second, or less, telling me the strikes are very close. Rain now so heavy that it is bouncing about 10 inches above the surface, after striking. A deluge about 9 inches deeps floods down the inclined street outside the property, carrying large rocks with its swift flow

1801 and the violent storm persists.  There are reports of emergency shelter areas flooding. Many temporary tents are carried away. Some didn’t have any protection, before the storm, and just huddle together hoping for its end.

The Rainy Season is taking its toll.

The storm sounds a loud hiss and roar as the sheets of water attack all in its path.

And the focus is off Haiti.  No one will know of tonight’s misery…or tomorrow’s and the days after…

Many will now die unnoticed as Bill Clinton heads some sort of ephemeral body that is supposed to save the nation.

Instead, it will do little for the real people and make many millionaires inside and outside of Haiti.

Clinton may get his Nobel Prize on the shoulders of these dying Haitians.
