Of course he faces a few hurdles, such as the Constitutional  requirement that he live in Haiti for the 5 years before the election.

He also has some messy explaining to do with regard to the running of his charity YELE HAITI. The least of his problems lies in the fact that he took dollars, better suited for buying rice and beans for starving Haitian children, and used these to pay his mistress a staggering wage for someone who did nothing for the charity.

This is not right, however, the lesson here is simply that Wyclef is so dumb as to think that someone wouldn’t blow the whistle on him while the lady was blowing something else.

The fact that his charity was 8 years behind with its tax filings does not make people think he is much of a businessman, and will not bring a business talent to the presidency.

He had a major scandal in Miami involving an expensive house in foreclosure.

At some stage he also collected donations and forwarded them directly to Haiti, not putting them through the charity books. This effectively blew the donor’s tax deductibility.  Since there was no accounting path for these funds, one can never be sure what they were used for.

When Wyclef sends VIPs to Haiti he has them visit Per Cico’s Afe Neg Kombit in Kenscoff. Cico runs a good operation and is a great place for people to see some action. But, it is Cico’s action, not Wyclef’s

Wyclef really has very little visible activity to show his visitors…so he uses the Afe Neg Kombite.

Wyclef should remain in the entertainment world as a front man for Haiti.

That is where his true strength is.

Haiti cannot survive a presidency such as he would lead.
