What some have maintained, throughout  the presidency of Rene Preval, seems to be true. They believed that the special relationship, between Aristide and Preval, remained unbroken.

Now, like a pirate ship,  striking its False Flag, Senator Stephen Benoit ran the Skull and Cross Bones up the mast and declared war.

Benoit states that Preval is the power.

Benoit says that all of the Senators have been meeting at Aristide’s house in Tabarre and have formed a group.

The Chamber belongs to Aristide/Preval.

Benoit demands an action that will see Martelly sit down with Aristide, Preval and Senator Lambert.

This situation has its roots firmly established in Ambassador Merten’s refusal to insist on a new CEP, almost exactly one year ago, before the American government released any funds for the election. The Canadians were firm on this approach and the situation could have been resolved, at that time, had Merten forced the issue.

The CEP was obviously Preval-controlled but Merten said he had been given their word, as to holding a fair election, and he believed he could accept this.

The results of that mega-misjudgment threaten the very existence of Haiti, as a Nation.

We could be on the verge of a civil war.

It also threatens any effort to rebuild the country.

Assisting Haiti now is like someone trying to sell a condominium in a building experiencing a five alarm fire.

  1. And now Aristide claims to have received $10,000,000, for his school, from an anonymous donor. It is actually from his own bank accounts, but this does not matter.

    Aristide will have his school going while Martelly is still sitting at the starting gate, without a government.
