FLASH – FLASH – FLASH NON-CONFIDENCE VOTE FOR GARRY CONILLE NARROWLY AVOIDED BUT REMAINS IMMEDIATE THREAT

January 20, 2012

Last week, the Conille government narrowly missed a non-confidence vote that is still percolating in the Chamber of Deputies and Senate. Martelly hates Conille and Conille has little respect for Martelly. It was/is a marriage from Hell.

Martelly has named all of the cabinet minister. Conille had wanted Planification but Martelly refused, placing a cousin of ex-Prime Minister Bellerive in the position. Planification effectively controls all of the development, and all of the funds that come from the January, 2010 earthquake. Conille should have walked away when he was denied the right to name the Minister of Planification.

He is now sitting in the Prime Minister’s seat without any infrastructure or funds to do his work, and he tolerates this. He has been given offers of assistance but, to date, has not followed useful suggestions.

And then, he was going to include Leslie Pean in his personal cabinet as a financial advisor.  Pean was accused of massive fraud, during his tour in Africa.

And then Conille names Gabriel Verrete, another loser, to be his financial adviser.

Conille is like someone beamed down from Mars. He is Haitian and yet, he is not Haitian.

The future does not look good for him.

  1. I agree with all that you said about Conille. However, we should look at Mr Martelly’s attitude which, I believe, is dictated by his failure to have got a Prime Minister submissive to his political fantasies (here I mean his dreams of dictatorship as the first thing he wanted was to reestablish that hug called army. Not the good ideas he has for Haiti.)
