EVANS PAUL FRIDAY JAN 16 INSTALLATION DELAYED AGAIN AS POLITICAL PARTIES REPRESENTING A FEW PEOPLE FIGHT OVER CABINET POSITIONS

President Martelly is faced with more stupid obstruction from participating political parties who really represent a few hands full of people.

Trying to gain agreement in Haiti is like trying to herd a bunch of kittens through a small hole in the fence, while blindfolded.

I remember a friend who was one of 3 medical students at a university. They wanted to form a Haitian Medical Association and then the fighting broke out. Each wanted to be president.

They haven’t spoken since and that was 45 years ago.

We are in a perpetual state of transition – to nowhere.

  1. Our country has the same problem, no one is willing to give an inch on their agendas, they attach them to every Bill going into office. Nothing can get done in the political arena. Every Bill has attachments that are totally not related to the original Bill. To vote for one thing means they must vote for things they may be totally against. Even in our primary election for president, the first few states that hold their primary, which is set by law, elects the candidates first, and eliminates many that those of us in other states want to see run. The United States Government is just as messy, the people have a say by our vote. But the popular vote doesn’t always win. You really have to be wealthy to even think of running for anything past state representative or state senator and even that costs a lot of money. Our government is run predominantly by the wealthy who have no idea what it is really like in the working field. Arguments between the Republicans and the Democrats has stalled our government on all levels. A president can’t expect to get anything passed even the budget. I am sorry that selfish arguments and big egos are standing in the way of both of our governments. Standing in the way of things like the Medical University there 45 years ago, by 3 men with good hearts but each wanting to be the public head, so all is lost. Ours are egos blocking things like education, healthcare, immigration, increased taxes, the shrinking middle class to low class, and the upper class just getting wealthier. May God bless our countries with unity within, so we can have unity to build our countries for our children, to protect the rights to honor our God who created us. To stand together as friendly nations to fight the terror going on all over the world. To be a union of Nations that remembers why we are called together, to protect the weak countrues, to help the poorer countries, to defend the countries being unfairly attacked by others, to bring peace, not another dictatorship to try and rule the world, but a group of nations coming along side of each other to help when the need is there, not to take over the country that is down. May we build up honest men and women, who serve out of the desire to do what is best for all, not just their district or their benefactors. I pray that you have a fair election in Haiti, I pray your country gets back on its feet. The people I met in Haiti are all kind, caring people that want to see the situation improve. They serve with pure hearts of love for the hurting and put others before themselves constantly in the clinics, in the orphanages, in the missions, On the soccer fields of the local communities. I thank God for These people who serve out of their love for Christ, they really want what’s best for all, especially the children who need someone to help them. These kids are bright, loving children with laughter amidst the poverty they are surrounded by. They love each other and offer you their prize possessions to show they care. Obviously no one takes their stuff, but it shows the hearts of the next generation. I pray their voices are heard. Please pray also for our country, the United States, that it too hears the voice of the children, our next generation that will have to deal with all this debt. May we both get governments that work together for the people, by the people. May God Bless us all.

    1. Kathy- I am here in Haiti, and thank you for the kind words for everyone here in Haiti. Sadly, Haiti’s problems are partially to blame on the america problems.
