Haiti - United States : Donald Trump appoints Lee Francis Cissna to Immigration

On Saturday, the White House announced that President Donald Trump has appointed Lee Francis Cissna to lead the US Citizenship and Immigration Services.

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services deal with immigration and naturalization applications. The agency is part of the Department of Homeland Security, where Cissna worked prior to his appointment as Director of Immigration Policy.

Let’s recall that President Trump has taken a firm stance on immigration since taking office by taking several measures to tighten security at the border and to restrict the arrival of refugees and migrants from certain countries. No one yet knows what Cissna’s immigration policy will be with Haitians…

Cissna previously worked at the US Citizenship and Immigration Services, in the Office of the Chief Counsel. He is also a former US foreign service officer, who was stationed in Haiti and Sweden.
