DIGICEL CHEATS HAITIANS ON REGULAR BASIS

November 26, 2012

Now that Denis O’Brien has a monopoly for the Haitian
cell phone market, DIGICEL has said screw the customer!!!
DIGICEL’s web site

https://online-top-up.digicelgroup.com/fr-HT/accueil/

offers double minutes for a payment of 600 gourdes. Check it
and see.

If you pay the 600 gourdes DIGICEL sends a text message
saying you have received a regular Top-Up but – most times –
you do not receive the second message that tell that you have
bonus minutes.

DIGICEL is counting on the fact that it is a real time consumer
to try and rectify the problem. They will give you smoke and
mirrors, to the effect, that 600 gourdes, minus tax, does not
leave enough to pay for double-minutes..BUT THE WEB
SITE STATES, IN SIMPLE FRENCH/ENGLISH THAT
600 GOURDES WILL RESULT IN 550 GOURDES FOR
MINUTES AND THIS QUALIFIES FOR THEIR DOUBLE
MINUTES!!!

Try calling their Customer Service for credit of the stolen
money!!! Forget it!! Visit a DIGICEL office and get a run-
around!!!

See following e-mail receipt (some details removed) to show
what we mean.

  1. When we had Haitel, Comcel and Voila it kept O’Brien honest. He worried about customers. Now, with complete monopoly he has forgotten us.

I have paid for Double Minutes always but only received them twice.

  2. DIGICEL should also have audit of actual minutes you receive. I think they cheat here also. Makes more billions for O’Brien.

  3. DIGICEL service is very bad today. My calls keep failing. The do not seem to concern anymore about customers now they are the only company.

  4. I have been trying to post comments on this site but i think all the comments are posted by the one who runs the website, pretty lame and unethical.

    1. Kallis- ALL comments are put in Que to await moderation. Your assumption is inaccurate and kind of arrogant, seeing as this is your FIRST comment.

  5. I have been using Digicel for years now, Comcel was poor in coverage, natcom people are thieves, still owe me $1,700 they owe me from last year for a small work i did for them. Furthermore i dont know what people are thinking and talking about here, but i was in Les Cayes last month and Natcom network was not available for two days, Thank God i was using Digicel.

Denis has been a driving force behind getting Haiti back on its feet and we should forget that. check the amount of good things the guy had done for us.

  6. i faced the same issue 2 weeks ago and called the customer care at Digicel, they acknowldged that there was some issue for short time and sent me the bonus.

I find Digicel customer care best in Haiti and better than companies like AT&T in US, who else offers you the such services here. i used voila and natcom as well, but natcom charges money to call the customer care.

  7. LOl…You gotta love DIGICEL now-a-days. Great job CONATEL…all customers gotta to do now is bend over to get screwed. !!!!!!!!!!!monopoly in action, the rules of the market….
