DEMOCRACY IN THE BALANCE IF DISCHARGES NOT PROVIDED FOR KEY CANDIDATES.

May 16, 2015

Deadlines are rapidly approaching and president Martelly’s attempts, over the past year and – especially – over the past moths, weeks, days threaten the entire electoral process.

He has done his best to create a CEP structure that cannot function. At one stage he placed a drunk at CEP chief and he did his best to do nothing, other than give Valerie Milfort’s  husband a $500,000 contract to revamp the Gold’s Gym building – a futile project.

Now we have another potentially dysfunctional CEP. Just naming people does not give them the capability of coordinating an election.

The question of Discharges – for key candidates – is the first and foremost in Haiti’s hope for survival.

President Martelly, Sophia, and their inner circle of the self-centered incompetent, have done their best o guarantee a situation in which elections will prove to be impossible.

The International Community must pressure Martelly to guarantee elections and provide discharges for those candidates with the possibility of saving Haiti, and the Haitian future.

Time is of the essence.

Discharges must be given to those with the chance of creating a functional government.

There is very little time to avert disaster.
