DECEMBER 5 PROTEST MARCH A FIZZLE AS A FEW HUNDRED ANSWER THE CALL,BURNING TIRES, BREAKING CAR WINDOWS AND STEALING PROPERTY- Added COMMENTARY By Haitian-Truth

December 5, 2014

I expect that AP will give its standard, exaggerated description of today’s march, telling the world that tens of thousands marched in protest against the Martelly/Lamothe government when the facts are somewhat different.

A few hundred marched, even though radio station hyped attendance, even as the march progressed, in the hope of adding people to the crowd. On these occasions, many with nothing to do, join in to enjoy the music and, when possible, loot a store, burn a car or steal vegetables from some poor market lady.

Not really a Democracy promoting concept, but this is the reality.

The marchers chanted, burned tires, broke car windows and stole property as the PNH – Police – looked on.

Police Chief Orelus  is a weak leader when the situation requires a firm hand.

The Aristide activists plan another for tomorrow, a continuation of today’s effort, in the hope that time will be on their side.

This is Haiti’s battle, not just a Martelly’s combat. The entire nation must combat populism, and anarchy once and for all. This is the Nation’s fight against a disruptive minority.

Perhaps Time will be on Haiti’s side and this stupidity will fail.

The opposition really represents nothing but the government can lose “against nothing.”
The teachers have decided upon a series of strikes around the Nation against the Minister of Education, Nesmy Manigat. Their case is a good one as he works to destroy Haiti’s educational system. Many suspect him of bleeding funds from the Ministry, for his own personal account.

The government could survive, or fall, over the subject of Nesmy Manigat’s incompetent handling of the Education Ministry.
The children of Haiti are suffering.

President Martelly’s promise of a quality free education, for all children, has become a shallow facade, because of Nesmy Manigat.

Something smells here.

Time for a change of socks.

Time for a change of Ministers.

  1. I knew there were something fishy about this site, but today you just prove it. How can you call yourself a friend off Haiti, we hen this all you have to say about tod events,it was country wide. Please stop with the lies and ……phayoneg@yahoo.com

    1. In reply to Raphael

What are you talking about? You make no specific comment about any specific subject because you are living comfortably, in New York, while the Haitian government is being threatened with a few stupid people who want to create chaos. Get on American Airlines and come back to see what is happening – Jerk!!

    2. Raphael- Where in Haiti were you to observe these “Nationwide” demonstrations? My guess is that you are stuck to your TV in New York watching Nationwide protests in AMERICA.
Why do so many Haitians abandon their home, then act like they have a clue what is happening here?

  2. Not nationwide.
    Not even citywide.
They had to delay until tomorrow to complete the tour in the hope of gaining a few more people.

  3. The picture is interesting look closely. They March against the government and in the background there is construction of a building with a crane above it. I guest they don’t like these job creating investments…. Oh yeah the Martelly/Lamothe government is cracking down on these thieves even at the ports and the prices they are charging for incoming shipments. They hate that. This is our chance to rid us of this so called parliament and elect a true free one. Let us do it. It is time for pro Martelly/Lamothe marches showing, chanting his accomplishments and pictures showing so. So we can shut this group 6 up.

  4. Reality and Perceived Reality are often different.

The Reality sees few people on the streets.

In France, the perceived Reality reports 100,000 people of Port-au-Prince streets.

Martelly and Lamothe had better wake up to smell the roses.

They are going to lose with a winning hand.

    AND HAITI WILL LOSE.

  5. All I would like to know is, where do you really stand in regard to what’s going on in Haiti.
I would appreciate it if you stop taking things so personal and look at the reality of the problems confronting the country.Ask you bosses and they will tell you that when they were in need help an since the early 70s they could count on a few of us. We are not the new kids on the block. The difference between us and others is, we were raised to work hard and never to look for favors and handouts at any cost.God bless Haiti!
