The Situation is truly amazing!
Throughout the countryside, people are talking about the elections that will be held in December.  Without exception, those we have talked with, are against their elected representatives and for the Martelly/Lamothe team.

Their consensus is a simple one.

During Aistide/Preval they received nothing.

Their Senators and Deputies never visited their districts. The people were disgusted.

Now, with Martelly/Lamothe, they have smooth roads, electricity and other services. The team is trying to generate an effective free educations system.

But the most interesting factor is their view of Martelly and Lamothe, individually.

They like Martelly a lot. They really like Martelly.

But they see Prime Minister Lamothe as the one who actually makes things happen. He is the engineer for Martelly’s success. He is the real – hands on – driving force behind whatever the government accomplishes.
The vast majority of the voters – 54% younger than 24 years of age – are very supportive of Laurent Lamothe.

These people – the actual decision-makers – have no say in the crime that is being generated against the Nation by a vocal few in Port-au-Prince.
The criminals, in the so-called opposition MOPOD, UNIPOD, BIPOD, OPL, DHL, FEDEX, MANIGAT, represent a tiny, tiny percentage of the population yet their voices, backed with a lot of $$ will destabilize the Martelly/Lamothe government and leave us in a terrible, irretrievable situation.

The opposition is funded by the drug dealers.

The reality sees Haiti’s carcass being fought over by two opposing elements. Those who are patriotic, and want the best for the Nation, and those who don’t give a damn for the Nation and only consider their own well-being and the $$ they can steal.

Time to wake up and smell the roses.

No time for the Martelly/Lamothe team to be panicked into doing something stupid that we will pay for over generations to come.

The survival of the Martelly/Lamothe government is – in simple words – the survival of any Democratic hope we have for the future of our children.

The abyss awaits us.
