HAVANA — Fidel Castro is questioning why the U.S. and other countries sent soldiers to quake-ravaged Haiti, saying military presence hindered international cooperation.
The former Cuban president writes that “without anyone knowing how or why,” Washington dispatched troops “to occupy Haitian territory,” and other nations followed suit.
In an opinion column Sunday in state-controlled media, Castro said neither the U.N nor the U.S. “has offered an explanation to the people of the world.”
Castro noted that several governments complained that the troops kept them from landing aid flights and called on the U.N. to investigate.
Bolivian President Evo Morales, a Castro ally, is seeking a U.N. condemnation of what he called the U.S. occupation of Haiti.

  1. Preval sure is a seedy looking little bugger. Stuffing anything other than ballot boxes lately? Perhaps your luggage? You have been pretty hard to find, and all that surfaces to represent Haiti is the same Bellerive that was caught trying to run away when things got rough on the 12th.

Oh wait, you are waiting to surface until the money is released? All you deserve to get is a day spent working with the folks that drive the lorry about the area collecting the dead. Put on your gloves you rum-filled coward, and stand for your people out in the open so the world can see your face. You stole their presidential election. Your country needs a leader.
