LAVALAS MAFIA LEADERS
The Senate has effectively become a law onto itself, operating outside the norms of Haitian society, or, for that matter, any other society. Protected by Parliamentary Immunity, Senators are free to break laws, commit crimes, without fear of retribution.
IMMUNITY!
IMPUNITY!
A classic example of this happened in 2007 when a boat, owned and operated by a Senator, was intercepted off Tiboron. It was crewed by 12 friends of the Senator and carried something more than 700 kilos of cocaine.
Looked like curtains for the Senator.
Not so!
The accused could not be brought to a normal court. He could only be judged by his peers. Effectively sending a thief to catch a thief.
The Senate held a trial/inquiry and found him innocent.
The DEA had apoplexy.
Pablo Escobar couldn’t believe it!
Haitians shrugged and got on with their lives.
In other words, we have an elective body that – once the ballots have been counted – steps beyond the control of mortal citizens. Sort of like the Middle Age concept of sanctuary, once a person could make it across the church steps, and into the building.
The idea of Political Immunity should not be used as a protection against legitimate legal claims by Society itself. Murder, kidnapping, drug-dealing, child-molestation…
Now, these criminals, led by Lavalas Senators Beauplan, Cassy, Pierre and Don Kato, are attacking the democratically elected government of Jovenel Moise from the Senate Sanctuary.
They are financing Terrorism with Senate funds.
There is not a single Senator, from all parties, who has not illegally benefited from the acquisition of PETROCARIBE funds! The only difference is the amount individually stolen.
Jesus Christ once said “Let he who hath no sin cast the first stone.”
So all sitting members of the Senate should recuse themselves from participating in the Corruption Commission investigating PETROCARIBE or in any subsequent vote, of sanction against anyone falsely named in this scandalous report.
The purpose of this entire game is destruction of personal reputations, and justification for refusal to grant Discharges to those who have served honorably in prior government positions, while having responsibility for State funds.
Two of the favorite targets are ex-Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe and ex-Finance Minister Wilson Laleau. These effective members of previous governments present a future threat to opposition elements, so the Lavalas Senate Mafia will do whatever it can to block Discharges.
By withholding Discharges they are removed from future contention. Taken to an extreme, all competent, qualified people will eventually be distilled from public service through the withholding of Discharges.
Now, in one bold move, the Senate has moved against many from previous governments – but no Lavalas criminals – and also taken a shot at President Moise for the purchase of 65 solar powered street lights.
The Senate and Aristide have invested a fortune in next week’s planned demonstrations on the 14th and 18th.
The failed demonstrations of November 10 and 11 have them concerned, but they believe, throw enough money at something and they will win.
The real thrust is against President Jovenel Moise as the opposition will move to collapse his government immediately.
Those named in the Petrocaribe fiasco will be targets over the coming months as the Lavalas groupings move to discredit them and block their participation in the next series of elections.
The report will conveniently overlook the $198,000,000 from Petrocaribe that Preval never explained.
Democracy is in peril.
President Jovenel Moise must take bold and aggressive action, against those who would generate a coup, one way or another.
We cannot survive in this continuous environment of instability.
We had heard that President Moise possessed a copy of the report, some time ago. Why then are we faced with total panic today as the real goal/threat was revealed??
It wasn’t rocket science to predict the targets.
